My first career day experience.
I recently had the opportunity to speak to a group of young minds at R’s elementary school.
It is quite difficult to explain the work of an illustrator in simple
and easy-to-understand words to first graders!
I decided to take full advantage of the power of illustration.
I was pleased to receive a thank-you-note from R’s classmate who said,
“After listening to the story, I finally understand what the illustrator’s work is all about.
What a compliment!
I was asked, “How old do you want to work until?
I replied, “As long as I can get an offer ❤️”.
I am grateful to be able to do what I love for so many years.

先日、Rの小学校でお仕事紹介の発表をさせてもらいました。
イラストレーターの仕事を
わかりやすく簡単な言葉で小１に説明するのは意外とむずかしい！
ここはイラストの力を存分に借りようと
絵をたくさん盛り込んだ資料をつくってのぞみました。
みんな真剣に聞いてくれて、質問もたくさんしてくれました。
「きょうはなしをきいて、やっと いらすとれーたーのしごとがなにかよくわかった」
とうれしい感想ノートももらって、幸せな時間となりました。
「何歳まで働きますか？」と聞かれ、
「お仕事をいただける限りは働きたいです❤️」と答えたので、これからもがんばりたいです。
こうやって長年、好きなことを仕事にできていることに
あらためて感謝する1日になりました。

Happy belated New Year!
I spent the holidays relaxing, away from social networking. In Japan,
the new year began with devastating earthquakes and a plane crash,
The wars around the world continue, My heart was reeling from all the heartbreaking news.
I really hope for peace and tranquility in 2024.
R experienced shopping with her New Year’s allowance for the first time in her life.
She participated in a “Tulip Drive” for the Noto earthquake in Japan organized by fleuriste petit a petit
and brought back some cute flowers.

I finally started working, writing little notes for a new children’s book to be published this month.
I would like to work more on children’s projects this year.

あけましておめでとうございます。
年末年始、SNSからはなれてのんびりと過ごしました。
新年早々日本では地震や飛行機事故、世界では戦いがおさまらず、
胸が痛むニュースばかりで心がざわざわしていましたが、
みんながおだやかにすこやかに平和な世界で暮らせるように強く願うばかりです。

わたしは昨日からようやく始動。
今月発売予定の「ぐーちょきぱーでなにつくろう」のポップ書きからはじめました。
昨年は年齢のせいか、気持ちも体も変化の年で思うように動けずモヤモヤした日が多かったのですが
今年はもう少し、しゃっきりとして
やりたいことをかたちにしていけたらと思っています。
どうぞよろしくお願いします！

Rは昨日、人生ではじめてお年玉を使ってお買いものをしました。fleuriste petit a petit さんの
チューリップ募金に参加して、かわいいお花をつれてきました。
お店には長蛇の列。同じ気持ちの人がこんなにいることにうれしくなりました。

Everytime i make dummy books for children’s book project,
I have my 5-year-old review. Romy is the best reader, is also a very reliable advisor.
She suggests
“Wouldn’t it be better if you put this here?
“Wouldn’t it be more interesting if it were like this?
Her advice is quite accurate!
Some of her ideas are adopted in my book.
I am currently working on books for babies,
Romy seems to understand how babies feel because she was one of them until recently!?
She even helps me book binding.
I could even say this is our joint project.
I realized that 10 years have passed since I first published the “Nana and Mimi Picture Book” series.
It’s time to put new ideas into shape, I think.
(I know I say this every year though.)

絵本のダミー（ラフ本）を作っては、我が家の５歳児に見てもらっています。
一番の読者なのですが、「ここにこれをいれたらいいんじゃない？」
「こうなってたら、もっとおもしろくない？」と思ったことをストレートに伝えてくれて、
頼もしいアドバイザーでもあります。
意見がかなり的確で、なるほど！と思うことも多いんです。
今作っているのは赤ちゃん絵本なのですが、
つい最近まで赤ちゃんだったから気持ちがわかるのでしょうか?!
本のかたちに切ったり貼ったりするお手伝いもしてくれて、
もはや共作と言ってもいいくらい。
気がつけば「ナナとミミの絵本」シリーズを出版してから１
０年も経ってしまったことに気がつきました。
新しいアイデアをそろそろ形にしたい、、、と思っています。(毎年言ってるけど、、、）
