4冊目の新しい絵本が生まれるまで『くつしたどーこだ？』出版のお知らせ

なぜ、子どもがいる家ではくつしたがかたっぽだけなくなってしまうのでしょう。 我が家も例外なく、《くつした まいごクラブ》の会員です。
「うちのくつしたたちは、いったいどこへ行っちゃうんだろう？」 そうつぶやいた私に、まだ小さかった娘が、「おさんぽじゃない？」と答えてくれました。
もし、本当にみんなのくつしたがおさんぽに行っていたら？そして、くつしたたちが自分のパートナーを探しに出かけていたら？
娘とのそんななにげない会話から「さがし絵本」が完成しました。
『くつしたどーこだ？』来年2月 偕成社より出版決定！
タイトルは、そのまま 『くつしたどーこだ？』です。
2025年の最後に、こうして４冊目の新しいオリジナル絵本の出版をお知らせできる幸せを深くかみしめています。
はじめて「ナナとミミのえほん」３部作を出版したのは2013年。
その後もずっとお話を考えていたものの、なかなか一冊にまとめあげられず、気づけばあっという間に12年が経ってしまいました。
絵本の力を再認識した12年間
この12年の間に娘が生まれ、毎日毎晩たくさんの絵本とすごす生活がはじまりました。
まだベビーだった娘が、エリック・カールの猫のページを見て、足をブンブン動かして熱心に反応していた姿は忘れられません。
あのとき、こんなにも小さな子どもの心を揺さぶり、想像力を広げる絵本の力に、心から感動したことを鮮明に覚えています。
「子どもが夢中になる絵やお話って、どんなものだろう？」「こんな本を一緒に読みたいな」。
読み手として、そしてつくり手として、あらためて絵本と向き合うようになりました。
今年のはじめには、絵本のクラスを受講して 一から学び直しをしました。
こうして新しい１冊としてかたちになったことが、本当にうれしくてたまりません。
来年は『くつしたどーこだ？』と一緒に、読者のみなさまの元へ、いろんなところへ出かけていけたらと思っています。

Exciting News to Share in the Last Month of 2025!
I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you all in this final month of 2025.
It has been twelve years since my first children’s book series was published. After facing a mountain of dummy books and numerous rejections,
I am happy to announce that my 4th original children’s book will be published in Japan by Kaiseisha!
The New Book is Titled: Where is My Pair?
Why do socks always seem to disappear one by one in houses with children? Our household is no exception; we are proud members of the “Missing Sock Club.”
One day, I muttered, “Where on earth do all our socks go?” My daughter, who was still very small, simply replied, “Maybe they went for a walkie?”
What if all those single socks really did go for a walk? And what if they were out searching for their partners?
This spontaneous conversation with my daughter became the inspiration for this new book: a “search-and-find” picture book that small children can enjoy!
A 12-Year Journey and the Power of Children Books
During these twelve years, my daughter was born, and I began a daily routine of reading countless children books.
I vividly remember when she was still a baby, reacting so intensely—kicking her feet enthusiastically—to the cat page in an Eric Carle book.
At that moment, I was profoundly moved by the power of children’s books to stir a small child’s heart and expand their imagination.
“What kind of art and stories truly captivate children?” “What books do I want to read with my child?”
These questions led me to approach children’s books again, both as a reader and as an author, with renewed sincerity.
At the beginning of this year, I even took a children’s book class to refresh my skills and learn from scratch.
After a long journey filled with setbacks, I am so deeply happy that this dedication has finally resulted in a new publication.

This publication is starting in Japan, but members of the “Missing Sock Club” must be all over the world!
I truly hope that Where is My Pair? will bring smiles and shared laughter to many parents and children.
